Last night Paper hosted a tests of the upcoming Albert Maysles skin flick Iris with Kate Spade Nyc tri-state, BAMCinematek and the film's legendary style-icon subject herself, Iris Apfel. In a cow-skin coat, Apfel held in the court on a panel discussion moderated using our very own Kim Hastreiter as well as Mickey mouse Boardman and the film's producers. Thought to be among various bon mots shared because of 93-year-old, Apfel said she senses the last great designer was Cristobal Balenciaga and departed the following wisdom-teeth on the audience, which was something your loved one's father said to her growing up: "Never expect anything from people. Finally, if they do something nice for you, that you're happily surprised. And if they don't, great, you're not upset. " You can't assert with that. The film was plastered as part of Kate Spade New York's ongoing "Interesting Women, Interesting World " series at BAM. Give some thought to photos from the evening below.
