Harare Downtown Council has been given the green light to into a street lights rehabilitation put up with Zambian company, Lamise Investments. Lamise will install solar lights within the Central Business District and used streets in exchange for advertising rights.
The road lights will first be linked along Julius Nyerere Way, Samora Machel Avenue between Rekayi Tangwena Avenue and Enterprise Roads, as well Borrowdale Road. According to minutes of joint business and environmental panel meeting chaired by deputy culminante Councillor Thomas Muzuva, town attendant Dr Tendai Mahachi gave the results on the deteriorating state of the city's street lighting infrastructure.
