Dwayne Johnson in Talks to Voice a good Demigod in Disney's 'Moana'

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson recently portrayed an edition of Hercules whose mythological deeds with backstory were somewhat exaggerated; today, though, he's in negotiations that will lend his voice to a right demigod in an upcoming Disney Vigor project. The Mouse House facet in question is Moana, one of two women animated films that the studio keeps scheduled for release in 2016.

The first Disney 'toon arriving here in 2016 is Zootopia, a buddy torrent featuring a pair of natural enemies (a fox and a rabbit). Moana, has turned into a were, is also something of a associate adventure; according to the official synopsis, the game follows South Pacific Islander Moana as she teams up with a woman hero, the famous demigod Maui (the role Johnson's circling), to travel typically waters of ancient Oceania in search of "a fabled island. "

The Wrap up, while reporting on Johnson's negotiate on prices to join the animated nautical encounter, says that the title role of Moana – described by co-director Elie Musker as "a dreamer obtaining unique connection to the ocean itself" – has not yet been inhabited; nor, for that matter, is Johnson's contribution a given. If The Rock signs directly on, though, it will (somewhat surprisingly) simply be his first voice-acting role as becoming 2009 3D animated feature Planet fifty one - and that wasn't exactly a good widely-seen film, either.

Similarly, is kind of surprising that Johnson isnt already part of the world of Disney Vigor; after all, he's currently a G. My wife and i. Joe, has a couple of dispenses under his belt, and is going join DC's cinematic universe given that Black Adam in Shazam here in 2019. Not that we're whining, Johnson's a tried and true entertainer; and just given that we're interested to see him partner with Kevin Not easy on the action/comedy Central Intelligence, when likewise game to see him function as the godly sidekick to the last Disney princess in the animated Moana.

Moana is being helmed by the guiding team of Ron Clements with John Musker (The Little Mermaid, The Princess and the Frog), based around their original story pitch. Unquestionably the film won't be a musical, but will embrace soundtrack work by Disney vet Mark Mancina (Tarzan, Brother Bear). Inside won't utilize the 2D/3D technique used directly on such Disney cartoon shorts given that "Paperman" and "Feast" (the last mentioned is now showing with Big Hero iPhone 6 plus Case 6), but the computer-animation aesthetic is supposed would imitate a painterly style (see: typically Rococo influence on Tangled with Frozen).

Disney animated films usually explored themes of romantic love, within recent years they've put a greater increased exposure of telling stories of familial and platonic love too. That trend would continue with Moana, as Moana/Maui come across to resemble such recent non-romantic The disney produtcions couples as Ralph/Vanellope and Hiro/Baymax. Ancient Oceania – a world of "enormous sea wildlife, breathtaking underworlds and ancient folklore" – should also make for a visually rich Disney fairy tale setting, directly on par with such locations as Arendelle (Frozen) and San Fransokyo (Big Hero case 6).

Moana opens here in U. S. theaters on The fall of 23rd, 2016.
