A new play about the early fashion designer Alexander Mcqueen iPhone case will premiere by the St James Theatre in May.
Told by John Caird, McQueen is just written by James Phillips and is charged as "more than a bio-play".
McQueen was a multi-award winning designer noted for ground-breaking fashion that made men a global icon. He committed self-destruction at his London home really.
According to press material the practice "steps into the fairy story City of McQueen's mind, the City seen in his immortal shows, explore with a dress an urchin turn into an Amazon, where beauty could possibly help us survive the night. lunch break
The action centres on a boy who breaks into McQueen's Mayfair house to steal a dress, leading to that life-changing encounter with the designer.
Playwright James Phillips's previous works your Little Fir Tree (Sheffield Crucible), The Rubinstein Kiss (Hampstead Theatre) and Hidden in the Sand (Trafalgar Studios).
John Caird's numerous guiding credits include his landmark RSC co-productions with Trevor Nunn relating to Nicholas Nickleby, Peter Pan and therefore Les Miserables. He directed of the musical Daddy Long Legs by the St James in 2012.
